Almost 5 years ago, a new member to's predecessor, Ace decided to use the persona of the standout antagonist of Ace Combat 04 Shattered Skies, the enemy Erusian squadron leader Yellow 13, to create a new group of combatants.

Using the PlayStation 2 and the Ace Combat game series, they dominated the scene with their skill, their discipline and the integrity and forceful personality of their leader, who billed himself as 'the NEW Yellow 13'.

Building a squadron around USAF principles and ranks, the 156th Tactical Fighter Wing (Aquila) soon drew enough committed players and members to expand to, at their height, field three separate squadrons (Red, Blue and the famous Yellow Squadron), plus a Wing-level strike force (The Silver Swords) who were, arguably, the top pilots of the day.

Unfortunately, personal-life problems and illness sapped the will and drive of the leader, Yellow 13, eventually prompting him to step down as Aquila Wing Commander.  Entrusting command of the 156th to his Executive Officer, Yellow 13 took a lengthy leave of absence.  Upon his return, and seeing how well Firegal had taken care of things while he was gone, Yellow 13 decided to bestow the Commander's position on her permanently and retired to Emeritus status.

During this period, the new Commander, Firegal, endeavored to bring Aquila into the world of online multiplayer gaming, with little success, as the members who had the XBox 360 gaming system were thin on the ground and in the air.  As other squadrons successfully fielded air and ground combat units, more members left Aquila for greener pastures, to the point where the Wing lost it's squad folder on ACS, where it had been only one of three squadrons (for gaming purposes, all gaming clans are referred to as squadrons) to maintain a presence for over 3 years running. (Sea Haven Defense Ministries, unquestionably the big dog on ACS now, and the Freelance Alliance, were the others).

As the remaining members of Aquila work to try and re-establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the arena of legacy gaming, they are always on the lookout for young (or old) pilots who like the discipline of a paramilitary organization, have or can develop outstanding air or ground combat skills, who want to lead and want to learn HOW to lead, and who can, daily, support and apply to their own lives, the Wing's philosophy. Honor. Duty. Country. The Aquila Way
